TAMIYA 1/35 35177 WWII GERMAN 38cm ASSAULT MORTAR STRUMTIGER

SKU: 35177

In the final stages of WWII, the Sturmtiger made its appearance on the battlefield. Based on the Tiger I hull, it came armed with a giant 38cm rocket launcher, a distinctive piece that had originally been developed by the German navy for anti-submarine use and could fire its mammoth 30kg, 149cm shells up to 4,600 meters. 18 Sturmtigers were produced between August and December 1944, with a few of the earliest being thrown almost immediately into action in Poland that August. Sturmtigers would also take part in the defense of German soil as the Allies closed in during the final months of the war.
