SEA TRIALS
Different scales of R/C boats from 1/100, 1/128, 1/144 to 1/150 were put to sea for fun. A lot of attention and effort was paid to the details of the vessels apart from their sea worthy capabilities. To have a realistically built ships running on sea would overwhelm all other desires.

Certain experiences could have learned after every sea trial resulting in continued improvement made on them without pause. One 'must thing' was to bathe them with warm fresh water after each game day for elongating their best conditions.
Kriegsmarine Battleship Bismarck, one of my favorites for her balanced and modern design. This one is in 1/150 scale.
Need to take extra effort to paint the Baltic stripes camouflage on both the superstructure and the hull , which is never an easy one. For this model, the camouflage in Phase II of Operation Rheinubung, upon arrival at Norway waters, was chosen that the stripes on the superstructure were removed while the swastikas on the main deck were covered by dark grey paint.
Slight weathering was applied.
A scale of 1/150 would appear to be real in rough water.
Here the 1/144 scale Russian Navy Varyag. Its bridge, made of copper and photoetched, coupled with its fiber hull, made it very cosmetically realistic and sea worthy.
Plunging into swell!
1/100 IJN Akizuki Class Destroyer. It was a 'B-Type' destroyer built for anti-air purpose to escort aircraft carrier fleet.
This model troubled me a lot for its water proof and navigation stability.
Cruising with her sister ship to become a fleet.
My another preference of IJN warship, the Heavy Cruiser Takeo in 1/128.
Again, a fleet moving forward.
A stunning view! Can hardly elaborate how much contented would be when seeing the models cutting into the wave like a real one!
