Tamiya #47524  1/10 R/C Porsche 934 (1976) 50th Anniversary Edition

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tamiya’s first R/C model Porsche 934, this incredibly special limited-edition kit recreates the iconic Porsche 934 with a bespoke chassis featuring the motor positioned lengthwise at rear-center which powers the rear wheels just like the actual car. For collectors and shelf queen connoisseurs, magnetized body mounts (needing no body holes) are included for those who want to just display the R/C car as a model! A unique numbered plate is included to make each individual kit special.  
 
About the bespoke chassis:

Motor Position

• Motor is positioned centrally and lengthwise to make the chassis layout like that of the actual car. Power is transmitted as follows: Pinion gear A → Spur gear → Propeller shaft → Pinion gear B → Spur gear → Gear differential. (Spur gears are new 66T design and all gears are 04 module. Gear differential is the one used on the TB-05 chassis.)
• Change pinion gears A and B to adjust gear ratio.
• Parts around gearbox are made of aluminum.
 
Rear trailing arm
• Just like the actual car, the rear suspension uses trailing arms. Trailing arms are molded in carbon fiber reinforced plastic for superior rigidity.
Glass fiber reinforced plastic lower deck
• The lower deck with integrated main and rear frames is molded in glass fiber reinforced plastic.
• The kit-standard wheelbase is 230mm (trailing arm rear suspension). (The rear layout of the lower deck can be altered to change the wheelbase to 251mm (double wishbone rear suspension). Separately sold body is needed for 251mm wheelbase.)
Design features inspired by the actual car
• Motor guard shape is like muffler shape.
• Chassis underside patterns.
• Stay mount design is like intercooler design.
• Separately sold cooling fans are above the motor, like cooling fan duct of the actual car.

Body mounts

• Choose whether to mount the body using holes (driving model) or magnets and metal parts (display model).

• 1/10 scale R/C chassis assembly kit. Length: 435mm, width: 202mm, height: 130mm.
• This R/C model assembly kit recreates the Porsche 934 run by Kremer Racing, which flourished in the 1976 DRM (German Racing Championship) season.
• The 4-wheel independent suspension uses front double wishbone and rear trailing arm setups with TRF (Tamiya Racing Factory) dampers and stabilizers.
• The polycarbonate body is the one used for the Porsche 934 30th anniversary model. Paint body with PS-54 Cobalt Green. (item 86054)
• Separate plastic parts recreate the rear wing, side mirrors and light cases. Separately sold LEDs are attachable. Paint rear wing and side mirrors with TS-102 Cobalt Green. (item 85102)
• Gearbox parts and turnbuckle aluminum parts feature dark titanium anodized finish.
• Updated stickers for this edition are included.
• 2-piece mesh wheels with metal plated rims are paired with medium-narrow racing radial tires (Item 51023) which offer superior performance. Use wheel spacers (Item 53646) when changing to front narrow and rear wide.
• Features high-spec TRF (Tamiya Racing Factory) dampers.
• Universal drive shafts ensure efficient drive.
• Unique numbered plate included.
• Comes with Item 54298 1/10 Scale Touring Car Cockpit Set (Left-Hand Drive) with updated stickers.
• Inspired by the first Porsche 934 model, the kit comes in a white packaging.
